What is the 5th C?

The 4 C's are: Color, Cut, Clarity and Carat Weight. But there is a 5th C most people are not familiar with: CRYSTAL The 5th C. Otherwise known in the industry as the material from which the Diamond is cut, can make a huge difference in the optics transparency and lucidity of the diamond. Some diamond deposits are known to have cloudy crystal(material), or clear material.

When we buy diamonds from the cutters, we only choose diamonds cut from the best diamond crystals.

Why are diamonds so special?

People ask all the time. Well, the simple answer is that to get a 1 carat polished diamond, you have to mine a 2.2-2.5 carat rough diamond.

To get a 2-carat polished diamond, you have to mine around a 4.5 carat rough diamond. 4.5 carat rough diamonds are much rarer than 2.2 carat rough diamonds. Therefore, the price increase is not linear, but exponential.

Are Diamonds Conflict Free?

Dallas Diamonds, as well as our cutters, adhere to the Kimberly Process, which excludes all diamonds bought from conflict free zones.

Movies aside, the good news is there are currently no civil wars or conflicts going on in any Diamond mining countries.
